Venus Factor Diet Plan Review – Real Results Or Just Another Fad Diet

An Honest Venus Factor Diet Plan Review

venus factorThe Venus Factor Diet has gained a great deal of popularity over the last several years. If you have been up and down the diet roller coaster, you may be wary and skeptical. As with any diet craze, there are always questions to consider before making the decision to try it out. In this Venus Factor diet plan review we’ll answer the following questions:

  • What is the Venus Factor Diet?
  • Is it safe?
  • Does the Venus Factor Diet work?
  • It is really any different than anything else I have tried?

If you do a web search for Venus Factor Diet reviews, you will find numerous reviews, articles and videos about this diet. Most all of them appear to be created by people who are selling the diet, so their information is unreliable.  This alone raises questions, too.

In this review, we are going to take a look at these questions to help you make an informed decision about whether the Venus Factor diet is right for you.

What is the Venus Factor Diet?

john barban reviewThe Venus Factor Diet was developed by John Barban, a noted fitness and nutrition expert. Barban created the Venus Factor Diet based on specific needs of the female body.

The primary theory behind the Venus Factor Diet is related to the hormone, leptin, which is linked to weight and metabolism.

Barban claims that women produce higher levels of leptin than men, however women tend to be leptin resistant. This resistance leads to weight gain and difficulty losing extra pounds.

The Venus Factor Diet claims to provide an easy weight loss program designed specifically for women’s bodies. It has a 12 week nutrition and exercise program that is said to reduce leptin resistance and target key problem areas in a woman’s body.

Leptin and Weight Gain:

Leptin is a hormone that was discovered in the early 1990’s. It is a protein that is made in your fat cells and communicates with your brain about the energy levels in your body. Essentially, leptin lets your brain know if you have enough energy stored. This communication affects your metabolism rate.

leptinWhen your leptin levels are high, your metabolism is boosted.  When low, your body goes into starvation mode and begins storing energy in the form of fat.

Some people have leptin resistance. This means that, although leptin levels may be normal or high in the body, but the brain doesn’t get the message and it thinks you are starving. The brain triggers you to feel hungry and it triggers the body to keep storing more fat for energy.  You eat more and your body keeps storing the fat because the brain thinks you are starving.

Does the Venus Factor Diet Plan Work?

The Venus Factor Diet Plan provides you with the following:

  • Diet and Nutrition Plan
  • Workout Plan
  • Online Membership Support Site

All of these are supposed to be geared towards a woman’s body.

The Venus Factor Diet promises to be simple and easy for women to implement. It also claims:

  • There are no forbidden foods so you won’t have food cravings
  • You will not have a weight loss plateau
  • You will boost your metabolism
  • You will have higher energy levels
  • You will not regain weight after finishing the program

In taking a closer look at this diet plan, it is not all that is claims to be.

Let’s start with the daily diet that they claim is simple and easy to follow and, supposedly, has no food restrictions. Sounds great, right? Well, not quite.

Essentially, you are restricted to a 1000 calorie diet for 5 to 6 days out of the week for 12 weeks.  Not only is this extremely restrictive, but it is also potentially unhealthy for some people and should be closely monitored by a physician. Are you going to lose weight with an extremely low calorie diet? Sure. But is it safe?  Maybe not. And there’s nothing new with this type of low calorie fad diet. It’s just wrapped up in a new package and very well marketed.

They also claim that you won’t boomerang back and gain more weight once you end the diet. If you keep to the highly restrictive calorie count, that may be true, but not a great health choice. This diet is not necessarily teaching you a healthier lifestyle.  It’s just cutting out tons of calories so your body will automatically start burning off some fat.

Add in a rigorous exercise program, and the pounds will come off. Nothing new here.

That’s another piece – the promotional ad makes it sound like a simple, no hassle weight loss program that doesn’t require lots of time exercising. It speaks to the frustrated, busy woman who is looking for a simple solution.

In order to get the full benefit of the program, you are supposed to follow their workout routine as well. Now, I am not opposed to having a healthy exercise routine, but the marketing of the Venus Factor Diet is shady at best in this area.

Granted, if you limit your calories to 1000 a day, you will lose weight for a while.

The program is marketed as a limited time offer for between $37 and $47.  This limited or one time offer has been around for ages, which also speaks to the integrity of the program.  They do offer a money back guarantee for 60 days, although there are several reports of trouble with getting a refund, too.

Some people have experienced results with the program, as would be expected. You will probably lose weight if you can stick to guidelines of the program, but overall, there are better options out there.
